Normally, I'm not a yuri fan, for two main reasons. I don't like shipping in general, even though it's inevitable in any crossover such as this, and because I do believe most of the characters involved would rather not if you asked them to. And even if they would get it on with each other, I don't think very many of them would be open to you depicting their more...intimate moments.
So it was with great trepidation that I browsed through some Rosalina fanarts and found this: Rosalina and Zelda, getting "familiar" with each other. "Just skip to the next one and don't worry about it" was my first reaction, but then I got a good look at Rosalina's face. That perfect mix of shyness, coyness and slyness pulls off an impressive list of feats alone. Shy is perfectly understandable, it's probably her first time; and yet coyness, she can't wait to unwrap her "present" some more; and slyness, she wants to do it slowly and savor every moment. Combined with Zelda's expression of stimulation, it gives the sense that this isn't just some random porn pic taking these two characters and having them have their way with each other. The viewer is truly convinced that these two fair princess have truly fallen in love, and their actions are the result of pure passion for one another.
I'm not one for explicit demonstrations of sexual acts, or even implicit ones for that matter, but for these purposes I can live with it as an artistic demonstration of passion and true love. And that's where shipping can truly shine as a story in its own right. Shown here is an example, an imperfect example mind you, but an example nonetheless, of a well thought out ship. It literally drips with the emotions associated with romance, I really can smell the hormones through the computer screen so strongly I can taste them. While I'm still going to dock points for pornographic depiction, the fact that it was done well means I'm going to give this one a good review. Good job!
